EMSIS Data Manager is the core of the EMSIS data system. EMSIS Data Manager instantly gives a state the ability to collect, store, report on, and configure Statewide incident data that conforms to the NEMSIS standard. It consists of three packages. They are EMSIS Server, EMSIS Web, and EMSIS Design Console. These three packages each have very specific functions.
EMSIS Design Console is a configuration tool. It is the 'brains' of the EMSIS system. EMSIS Design Console can be used to quickly and efficiently alter the data elements and screen design within the EMSIS system and then have those changes reflected throughout the entire EMSIS system. This means that you now have the control over your system's design to add, alter, or remove data elements without costly programming modifications.
EMSIS Server runs on the State's database server. It consolidates the incident data that is collected from the local EMS Providers (via EMSIS Web, EMSIS Provider, or third party applications), offers searching and reporting tools, and will eventually file into the national NEMSIS database.
EMSIS Web, hosted from the State's Web server, provides for easy entry and management of incident data. The combination of EMSIS Web and EMSIS Server instantly gives a state the ability to collect, store, and analyze EMS incident data.
